Cabrera, María Trinidad Sánchez. –El ministro de Turismo, David Collado, junto a la vicepresidenta de la República, Raquel Peña, inauguraron el nuevo malecón de Cabrera. Una obra construida a un costo superior a los 73 millones de pesos.
En el mismo se contempló la construcción del litoral del malecón de Cabrera de unos 600 ml, para la creación de un parque lineal con un área total de intervención de 7,350 mts2, dentro de los cuales se realizarán los trabajos de unos 2,170 m2 aceras y 1,367 ml de contenes.
La obra incluye senderos peatonales, rampas de acceso universal, paisajismo, plazas, área de juegos infantiles. También un espacio para la realización de ejercicios grupales, gimnasio y anfiteatro.
El ministro de Turismo, David Collado, manifestó que con esa obra se marca un antes y un después en el desarrollo del turismo en Cabrera.
Con esta obra atendemos un viejo anhelo de los residentes de este hermoso municipio y marcamos el despegue definitivo del turismo aquí en Cabrera.

En el acto también participó el rector del Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo, Julio Mariñez, quien preside la unión de universidades. Esa organización supervisó el proceso de licitación de esta obra en procura de la transparencia del proceso.

La plaza de Pescadores tendrá una longitud de 44.23ml, con área de 376.69 mts2, mientras que, la plaza Central (A- B) contará con mirador fotográfico; con un área total de 2,162 mts2. En el cual se encuentra: un anfiteatro, áreas sociales, así como también una zona de ejercicios grupales y gimnasio.
Asimismo, la plaza del Cañón tiene un espacio de 40.25 m2, donde se jerarquiza la zona peatonal con la creación de una composición de 3 pórticos; así como delimitar los vestigios históricos de un cañón de la zona. La plaza del Foro cuenta con unos 87.67 mts; con área de 1,333.58 mts2. albergando áreas sociales y de juegos infantiles.
Cabrera, es uno de los municipios con más atractivos turísticos del país. Esta colocado estratégicamente en el promontorio del nordeste y de frente al océano atlántico.
El remozamiento de este malecón traerá al municipio un mayor auge económico, ya que llegarán más visitantes de las zonas, así como de otras partes del país.
La inauguración del malecón se realizó en el marco de la celebración de la plataforma Turismo en Cada Rincón. Este es el tercer destino donde se lleva a cabo.
Turismo en Cada Rincón es el espacio idóneo para promover y fortalecer el turismo interno en República Dominicana, donde todos los actores del sector muestran sus productos y servicios con el fin de dar a conocer con lo que cuenta cada lugar del país.
En esta ocasión se desarrolló en el parque central de Cabrera, provincia María Trinidad Sánchez, donde las diferentes cadenas de valor del turismo, exhibieron y vendieron sus productos; así como también, hubo un derroche de arte y cultura.
